About Jay George
Jason “Jay” George / Software Architecture · Applied AI · Technology Leadership
Engineer by training. Leader by experience.
I’m a technology executive and hands-on software architect with more than 20 years of experience spanning enterprise engineering, applied AI and analytics, digital transformation, and mission-critical media systems. I have built software, led engineering and operational teams, and been accountable for translating ambitious technical plans into dependable results.
My work bridges the boardroom and the codebase. The disciplines may vary—from distributed data platforms to live broadcasting—but the underlying approach is consistent: understand the operating problem, make the technical tradeoffs explicit, and build for the people who have to run the system.
Career
YCP Supply Chain / YCP Consus
As Vice President of Americas operations, engineering, and AI/ML analytics, I held executive responsibility for a confidential enterprise analytics product, guiding its architecture, development, and delivery. My work included leading globally distributed engineering and data science teams; developing and governing reusable analytics frameworks; and connecting procurement transformation to measurable operational decisions.
My work spanned Python, SQL, C#, JavaScript, ETL, predictive modeling, Azure, containerized workloads, and the management systems needed to scale delivery across regions. I also led cross-functional consulting and delivery organizations of more than 30 people.
Dalet Digital Media Systems
As a Solutions Architect, I designed and integrated complex media supply-chain workflows for major broadcasters and content organizations, including engagements with HBO/WarnerMedia and NBC News. The work combined enterprise architecture, APIs, workflow orchestration, hands-on integration code, stakeholder discovery, and production deployment.
Charter / Spectrum Networks
My career in broadcasting included leadership of technical engineering operations in California and the Oceanic region, systems development for continuous news operations, and support for major live sports productions. I helped design and launch systems supporting regional news operations, and developed applications and integrations using C#, UWP, VBA, and cloud media services.
What I bring to complex work
- Software and systems engineering: solution architecture, distributed services, enterprise integration, APIs, production operations, and engineering governance.
- Applied AI and data platforms: machine learning, predictive analytics, RAG/NLP, data pipelines, model evaluation, explainable insights, and visualization.
- Technical leadership: global organizations, cross-functional delivery, executive stakeholders, customer success, and modernization programs.
- Operational judgment: designing for uptime, observability, recoverability, security, and long-term maintainability.
Education and perspective
My academic background includes a BS in Computer Science from Oregon State University, an MA in Forensic Psychology and a graduate certificate in Terrorism Studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a BA in Psychology from Pace University. It gives me a useful combination of technical, analytical, and human-systems perspectives.
I’m also a U.S. Army combat veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Division, and a recipient of multiple regional Emmy awards for work in television and broadcasting.
How I work
Strategy should survive contact with the code.
I value clear requirements, testable assumptions, pragmatic architectures, technically credible leadership, and systems that remain useful after the launch team goes home.
